With our modern measuring instruments and expert staff, we analyse the efficiency of your fan systems and ensure optimum operating conditions.
How is fan efficiency measured?
Fan efficiency is calculated by comparing the airflow and pressure delivered by the fan with the electrical power the motor draws from the grid. This shows how much of the energy consumed by the fan is converted into useful work.
Low efficiency is usually caused not by the fan itself but by its operating conditions: a dirty impeller, a slack belt, a throttled damper or a fan that does not match the system’s needs. Based on the measurement results, improvement options such as maintenance, adjustment, inverter control or equipment replacement are evaluated.
Common causes of low efficiency
- Dirt and deposits on the impeller
- Belt slip and pulley misalignment
- Running throttled with a damper
- A fan selected larger or smaller than required
- A duct system with high pressure loss
