With our modern measuring instruments, we precisely measure and analyse airflow and pressure losses in your ventilation lines.
Why are airflow and pressure loss measured?
Air in a ventilation line loses pressure as it passes through ducts, bends, filters and dampers. As pressure loss increases, the fan either consumes more energy to deliver the same airflow, or the airflow drops and ventilation becomes insufficient. Airflow and pressure measurements show whether the line is working as designed.
A system curve is derived from the measurement results and the fan’s operating point is determined. In this way, problems such as clogged filters, incorrectly set dampers and narrowed or damaged duct sections are identified and improvement recommendations are prepared.
Common causes of increased pressure loss
- Dirty or clogged filters
- Incorrectly set or closed dampers
- Dust and grease build-up inside ducts
- Damaged, crushed or leaking duct sections
- Line extensions added later and not accounted for
